iPod Hide-and-Seek.

iPod Mini.

Several days after the release of the iPod Nano, Hikaru and Erika picked up 4 Gig iPod Minis from Biccamera. Why? Neither Hikaru or Erika took to the iPod Nano’s small form factor, “It feels like a toy.” Hikaru’s is silver and Erika’s is blue.
Cleanliness is next to Godliness: Stacks of Paper, iPods, and Plastic Bags.

An alternate title would be: Where is Hikaru’s iPod Hiding? And, How Did it Get There? Yes, yes that is probably the more appropriate title.

The Lost Little iPod.

INT. OUR PLACE - DINING/LIVING ROOM - NIGHT

HIKARU is sitting at the dining/living room table
eating senbei (ใ›ใ‚“ในใ„), a rice cracker, talking
to her daughter, and flipping through the newspaper.

There are backpacks, pencil cases, handbags, and
plastic bags on the floor around the dining/living
room. Not far from the dining/living room
table, there is a computer desk. Two laptops
sit side-by-side on the computer desk. Between
the two computers, there is a stack of papers
cables, a note pad, several books, and a cell
phone charger.

To the left of the computer desk is a sofa that
has not been sat on in months, due to the pile of
newspapers, clothes, books and test papers.

DEREK, a dark 38-year-old man with a sparkling
smile, enters the dining room, sheds his coat, and
plops himself down in front of his computer.

                           HIKARU
                     Oh, you are home.

                           DEREK
                      (Slightly annoyed.)
                     Did you find your iPod?
I mean, how did you lose
                     it?

                          HIKARU
                     I'll look for it now.

She looks around the dining/living room by moving
a few bags on the floor. She finds nothing. She roots
around the sofa by lifting bits and pieces of
paper, clothing, and books. Again, she comes up empty
handed.

                          HIKARU
                       (Looking defiant in an
                        attempt to deflect Derek's
                        angry stares.)
                     Well, I have looked everywhere!

                          DEREK
                       (condescendingly.)
I cannot believe you lost your
iPod. Maybe it is under all those
                     clothes on the sofa.

                         HIKARU
                     I've already looked under that
pile. You don't think it fell
in to the little trash can and
got pitched in the garbage, do you?

EXT BALCONY - NIGHT

HIKARU grabs some empty garbage bags and heads
out to the balcony. She pulls out some of the stuffed
garbage bags that are on top. The third bag contains
her iPod. She holds up the bag and shows it to DEREK.

                         HIKARU
                       (Coyly.)
                     I found it.

THE END

Wow. How does an iPod accidently end up in the trash? You’ll get some mileage out of that one.

It looks like it fell off the stack of paper and cords in to the garbage can.
